If you’ve ever liked even the slightest hint of Fleet Foxes, you’ll get right into this track from Cry Monster Cry as it takes all of the charm of the Foxes’ folk-based approach, removes the ridiculous sounding vowels and becomes an upbeat piece of indie folk that’s sure to bring a warming sensation to your ears.
Having heard the news earlier this week that Mumford & Sons will be headlining at Reading & Leeds this year, these lads might be wondering if this kind of music is set to make a revival. If it does, they deserve to be on the front-line of people’s listening habits as they’ve constructed a track that has all the rustic appeal of singer-songwriter acoustic music combined with samples of some of the very best mainstream folk that’s been on offer in the last decade.
