We’ve all heard far too many love songs over the years to want to hear another one so, with a title such as this, you’d probably be hoping for something that wasn’t exactly a ballad. Well you might be slightly disappointed on that front yet you can’t help but be drawn in by the jazzy edge to these new sounds from Amber Leaves.
As the bass marauds wildly as those it were an elk let loose in the fields, this song finds itself becoming so smooth in places that if you were only wearing socks you’d be slipping around all over the place as if some idiot thought it would be a good idea to try polishing my own bedroom floor… The emotion that is wrought from the very soul of the vocals feels as though it comes from a place so close to home and the guitar and piano act as the perfect accompanying instruments to guide our story-teller through this harsh time.
Sure, there are plenty of clichés to be heard yet not a single one of them detracts from just how much of Amber Leaves is left behind in this song. They truly have gone all out and it very clearly shows.
