Slower than a turtle but more soulful than the aforementioned turtle, Glassmaps is back at it again with a gorgeous new single that sees every beat drip into your ears as if it were the perfect tonic to cure your insufferable tinnitus.
Never rushing, like a proper good cup of tea, ‘My Head My Heart‘ brings a modern, psychedelic twinge to a tried and tested style of music. It relies on the power of the beats and the excellent synth sounds which echo Joel Stein’s vocals. The track feels like The Black Keys have gone on holiday and are jamming out while flat on their backs on matching sun loungers – having already administered a solid level of sun cream before relaxing, of course. It’s slow but never feels as though you’re listening to somebody drag their heels, Stein knows the importance of patience and he’s not in any rush to please anybody else. This is much that he wants to make, that he has control over and that he can do with as he pleases. As it should be, eh?
Electronic sounds meet rock staples in this beaut of a single that you’ll have accompanying every step you take for the next few weeks.
