What a lovely singing voice. No, this isn’t me doing my impression of Tom Hardy’s Bane (my imitation isn’t that bad actually, in case you were wondering) but my immediate reaction to hearing the vocals from Yvonne as she glides through my aural spectrum.
With a voice that shivers in just the right way placed delicately on top of an absolutely stunning piano part and aided by the sounds of a band that know exactly what they’re doing, the final product is a song that’s full of character and life that has become so rare in most modern popular music. The song oozes a level of class that many can only dream of and few ever have the guts to attempt recreating. Thankfully, this is the voice of a woman who is committed to her art and appears to have the same strength in her heart as she does in her voice.
If you take the time to relax and enjoy this song you can appreciate it in all its stunning glory. Definitely one for those lazy Sunday afternoons.
