The Vultures – Vlad

Screen shot 2015-02-06 at 14.16.01The strings that play the ominous opening notes of this track definitely gives the hint of Vlad The Impaler skulking around in the shadows, waiting to pounce on his next unexpected victim. With lyrics that detail the exploits of this cruel man, The Vultures take a deep dip in the pool of history as they tell tales of an often forgotten man with their dark, haunting style making history more fun than ever before.

Except maybe Horrible Histories, that was awesome.

Driving the track ever onwards like the horse that pulls the carriage is the pounding drum beat that tackles the cobbles with ease, as if they were a mere pittance whilst being accompanied by the bass, sitting in the driver’s seat on the carriage whipping away at the drums as they rush their precious cargo of strings and voices through the streets of London, eager to escape from the ever-growing darkness. With twists and turns in the road that pull the carriage to and fro, you’re never really sure how this period drama will come to a close and whether or not everything is quite as it seems.

You’ll just have to give it a listen to find out.
