You won’t have even had time to move your mouse off of the ‘play’ icon before Asylums start to blow you away. With guitar riffs that could have comfortably made the cut for any Foo Fighters album, there’s a rough and ready attitude to these lads that makes them everything I love about music.
Guitars aplenty, this track is full of youthful energy and exuberance and takes inspiration from many of the hard-hitting guitar bands that have helped shaped teenage years across the globe. The lyrics are filled with everything you’d expect to hear from someone living life on the edge of the noise, there’s plenty of britpop to be heard, though it’s most certainly fused with something a little more angst-filled and rage-fuelled. Coming in just below the two and a half minute mark, there’s barely enough time to wrap your head around the aural brilliance that surrounds you before it vanishes off into the night.
A true force to be reckoned with, Asylums music should be blaring from the rooftops as it deserves to be heard by anyone and everyone.
