I’m not sure when the last time was that I came across a song title that more accurately reflected the feeling of the song. Despite sounding somewhat disjointed, all the pieces do indeed seem to fall together in this catchy little ditty from Alex Highton. Whether it be jaunty piano playing, slightly disorientating vocal harmonies or a peculiar selection of instruments, something about this song simply clicks.
Something with such a happy feeling as this belongs as the soundtrack for a cracking 80s sitcom. I can just imagine Bill Cosby putting on a colourful sweater/cardigan as he strolls through a house of happy, smiling faces. It’s as is Chas & Dave had a much less grating appeal, no offence to either Chas or Dave, and there’s a lovely upbeat feel to the song, complete with hints of curiosity which will leave you questioning exactly what’s going on. Nevertheless, there’s a truly wonderful charm to the song’s composition that makes it a truly appealing piece of music that I could quite easily listen to any time of day.
To steal Alex’s opening gambit, I don’t think he could make this any better.
