There are so much people out there making music with just an acoustic guitar, for a while I found the legions of singer-songwriters that flood the streets and sites such as YouTube to be a bit of a pain as there’s definitely a limit to how much you can do with an acoustic guitar. That being said, there are still some very talented people out there making top quality music with their trusty unplugged instrument in hand. Dave Pilla is one of them.
With a darling voice and and emotive message, these days don’t seem to sound quite so hollow as they probably once did. Having spent the first half of the song seeming a little stranded and alone, plenty of support kicks in midway through this tear-jerker of a track and the harmonies on offer are utterly sublime. What Dave does so well is taking a rather straight-forward idea and taking it up a notch, showing that he knows how to strike right in the heart of a listener and make sure that his thoughtful, honest message is heard.
After all, there’s nothing wrong with a bloke and his acoustic guitar, is there?
