One third of Crystal Sister‘s self-titled EP, this track is the one that really caught my attention as it shows a mastery of the aural spectrum and the atmospheric feel that it has throughout appeals to my curiosity as it always feels like it’s holding something back yet the music is far too wise to give you everything you seek within the first few rolls of the dice.
As the music grows into life, the vocals seem somewhat tentative and reserved yet the natural curiosity of human beings mean that we’re drawn right in and feel the need for as much information as possible. Each time the sound peaks back into one of the more aurally intense moments it feels like you’ve been gifted with these answers that you’ve been seeking for what seems like an eternity. This voice is making me question every last detail of my being and I just want to reach out and touch the sound as I simply can’t keep away from it. Something here has really struck a chord with me but I just can’t quite put my finger on exactly what it is.
This isn’t quite the sort of thing that I’m usually into but I’m utterly enthralled by every last speck of Crystal Sister‘s sound.
