The rhythm of the guitar, overlaid with an adult choir of backing vocals, makes the opening to this track from Glass City Vice instantly enticing and it gives you a decent signpost of the aurally pleasing things set to come. The off-beat hits and delectable lead vocals make this a track that you can’t afford to let slip off your radar.
Somehow the band are able to combine some hard hitting riffs with tender moments, putting together what most films strive to achieve in just under a two and a half minute running time. As the vocals reach the higher echelons and the guitars transport you back to a simpler time when there wasn’t music flying past you on every street corner, you’ll feel like the music that you’ve been longer to hear for so long has finally been made and that these are the guys doing it. They’re doing a rather stellar job of it too.
With riffs that you could well be hearing on TV any time soon and enough musical diversity to keep it from feeling stilted, there’s pretty much everything you could ever want wrapped into this brief little gem. I just wish there was more of it to love…
