Get ready for some lo-fi goodness courtesy of the alluring Gothenburg duo Pale Honey. The pair assemble a Tom Waits-esque selection of industrial sounds to back up one of the finest lead vocals you’ll come across all year.
Whether you’re more attracted to the empty verses or the buzzing, full-throttle chorus sections there’s something utterly irresistible about the way these ladies go about their business, they’ll have you eating out of their hands within no time. Some of the rhythms hidden in the background are well worth keeping an ear out for as they act in stark contrast to the sheer overwhelming sensation that flows through your bones each time they crank up through the gears. As the vocals beckon you in, encouraging you to dress in black – perhaps as it is meant to be slimming – as you fall deeper under the spell of your new aural hosts to the extent that you’re pretty much willing to give yourself overly entirely to these songstresses. I think you probably should, they know exactly what they’re doing.
This is an absolutely beauty, you can’t afford to miss out.
