Starting off as though it were the background music for a ’70s or ’80s cop show/adult movie, these sounds from Marc Culley’s new band Soul Love are about as old school as it gets and you may not be surprised to hear that there’s a support slot for Black Grape on the horizon.
Some timing issues from the lead guitar aside, there’s plenty to get excited about in this track as the soulful start leads to a full-frontal assault on your ears – the intensity really steps up towards the end of each verse and the raw power that exudes from every last instrument means that you’re in for one hell of a ride. Live shows will surely see boisterous fans knocking each other to-and-fro as they get caught up in this aural madness. The cacophony of noise created will set the passion in your heart aflame and the burning desire to be at one with the music will shine through with ease.
This is an incredibly strong track and there’s nothing I’d like more than to rock out to this belter for hours on end, no matter the weather. Pure gold.
