Open a song with a spot of bass and you’ve got me eating out of your hand like a well-trained llama. Though there’s a considerably smaller chance that I’ll spit in your face, albeit that’s not entirely out of the question, I’ll happily dance clumsily around the floor to this latest tune from Derry’s The Clameens as they’ve filled my body with musical spirit right down to my little toes.
While she might be busy with techno on the brain, these lads have got a considerably more indie sound rattling around inside their heads and it seems unsurprisingly that they’ve already supported Pete Doherty and The Strypes. The infectious melodies will indeed make you want to dance forever, no matter how knackered your knees might get. This is a slice of top quality indie transported from that mid-’00s period which seems to be the current last bastion of fine indie music dominating the airwaves. Oh how I hope this is the start of a revolution.
This one is sure to keep you on your toes, make sure you’ve cut your toenails.
