Jingo – Ghost In The Machine

Screen shot 2015-08-14 at 13.37.50As a darling voice enters your ears, singing words that are filled with sadness yet usher you in, you start to question decisions you’ve made in the past and whether or not you’re on the right path to get to where you want to be. Or maybe that’s just me. Still, there’s no denying that these latest sounds from Jingo are utterly heart-wrenching and if they don’t touch your heart then you’re… Well, you’re a big meanie.

Once the vocals, and the exquisite harmonies, are joined by a fuller band the emptiness that once was is taken away and there’s a feeling of security that surrounds you. In the end, everything just comes together beautiful enough to make you feel as though you’ve just watched all the saddest scenes from all your favourite TV shows back to back in a questionable YouTube frenzy. There’s no questioning this though, it really is an absolutely stunning piece of music that’s tailor-made to pull emotions from even the darkest depths of your core. Oh, and then it gets nice and rocky for good measure – that should help to disguise how much you’ve been crying.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to need a lie down – this has worn me right out.
