Oh I do love it when someone goes out and binds together sounds that result in a track so dark that you’d need a whole gallon of milk to make it consumable. That’s exactly the sort of thing Kirt Debique has done with his most recent offering as his low voice lends itself exquisitely to the brooding nature of a song that sounds like it hasn’t been out of the shadows for months.
If you’ve got a voice with the ability to be as menacing as this then you should certainly be using it to full effect and, while there is a slight worry at times that this is going to turn into what I believe is known in the electronic world as a ‘banger’, the whole song murmurs just under the surface as if to make waves that’ll spread for miles without anyone being really sure as of their origin. Sometimes you’re able to achieve the most inspirational sounds when you dwell in the darkness and it feels as though our aural host has become a true master of everything that remains untouched by the sun’s rays.
You don’t need to go outside today – just close the curtains and indulge in these billowing depths of sonic genius.
