Forget getting a caffeine boost down you, crank those headphones right up and blast your mind into consciousness with this lively little beaut from False Heads. There’s no need for any of your trendy-arse lo-fat, skinny, whatever-other-bollocks lattes or the like when you’re able to get an energy injection that’s quite so easy on the ears as this.
With a sound raw and ready enough to start a riot these feisty punk-lovers have a reckless abandon that can only bring goodness to the world of us lefty, anarchic types with nout better to do than wile away the hours dancing around like we’ve had a little too much to drink. The grit of the guitar and the pulsing attack of the bass combine brilliantly to give the vocals a fighting chance of carrying over a full-frontal drumming attack. It’s all kinds of messy yet there’s a genuine coherence that suggests this lot are more than just a rag-tag bunch of wannabes and they’ve got plenty of potential to kick on and prove that they’re a cut above.
Bringing back memories of teenage outbursts and the odd night that’s got out of hand, this ripper is set to keep your eyes and ears wide awake. Mind your mouth though, you’ll look like a right berk if you leave that open as well.
