Kiko King & creativemaze – Resolution For Solitude

kikoBerlin has long been established as a city brimming with new, exciting musical ideas and one of their latest exports to our ears has been the pleasant sounds of the intriguingly-described ‘Airbendermusic’ sound, courtesy of Kiko King & creativemaze.

The notoriously secretive duo blend beats with positivity and thought-provoking messages in their latest video, bringing to life a vibe that’s unmistakably unique and doesn’t quite feel like anything I’ve heard before. The fact that they’ve been working with Tricky recently and have even played with the likes of Massive Attack and GusGus suggests, to me at least, that there are plenty of people out there who reckon this pair have a bright future ahead of them. It’s fresh, it’s exciting, it’s about shaking things up and just trying things your own way regardless of what anyone else might say. Some of those little lyrical runs are simply sublime and are such an effective hook that you might have to go back and re-listen to them on their own a few times to get the full effect.

There’s a whole album of their recent stuff that’s well worth a listen to but this one really is the cherry on top. Long live the (Kiko) King.
