Oh darling, darling, you really shouldn’t have, I don’t deserve this. I can’t believe you got me a shiny new beauty from Orchards — it only dropped just today I believe, how did you know I’d love it so much?
Well, I mean, who wouldn’t love this? It’s so perfectly delivered like a pizza that has added toppings on every last slice without a mushroom in sight. From the expertly delivered vocals all the way back to the drumming which flies around the kit without even a hint of a stick hitting anything other than the absolute centre of its target, everything here makes this beaut into what I believe is known as a ‘math-pop belter’ worthy of being wrapped up in your mum’s finest paper and topped with a bow. No! Two bows! It’s that ruddy special, treat it how you’d want to be treated if you were a series of sonic treats that were being bundled together into a physical project and given to the person who has reignited your faith in humanity. Bit much? Yeah, you’re probably right.
Anyway, the Brighton quartet have really hit top form with this stellar delight. Their infectious peppiness, mixed with tinges of real vocal emotion, provide the perfect sounds to really brighten up your day.
