Sounding like Maxïmo Park mixed in a blender with Bikini Kill and some kind of messed up psych genius, this absolute STORMER from Warm Digits is sensational and is about to rip your ears a new one.
Christ, this will do more to wake you up than if you swapped out the sugar in your coffee for something a little more ‘cocaine’. It’s a swirling cacophony of all kinds of sounds – whether it’s the guest vocals supplied so expertly by Mia La Metta or the thundering baseline that feels straight out of a thriller or, most likely, the utterly insane synths that make this tune fly up and down the walls quicker than the cat after he had a quick sip of your special coffee. Who even knows what’s going on here? More to the point, who cares? This is exactly the sort of sound that can make you blot out everything else around you and feel once more like the world is in a finely balanced place where there are no worries about who wants what or who does what wrong.
This is music for music’s sake and it feels so damn refreshing that you’ll have to keep it on you at all times during hot weather. More of this, please.
