White Room – Cable-Built Dreamland

Screen Shot 2017-09-29 at 17.30.42White Room are back it it again with the white vans great tunes. This time out they’re mixed up in the dystopian present, fuzzing things out to make life just a little bit more fun while all around you falls apart.

Catchier than the plague (which I hear is making a comeback), this newest release sees the Brighton indie upstarts get nice and all over the place as they try and make your day into a real life dream. Stopping just one step short of pulling out a big ol’ harp and making everything go a bit wavy to neatly set up a flashback, the band channel everything from glam to psych as they offer a true alternative to the drab world outside your bedroom door. With enough pop about it to keep the young people dancing, the track does more than just thrill the ears. Frontman Jake Smallwood says: “It’s about people’s narcissistic obsession with how they are perceived online; the mask they create behind which they disguise their true selves.”

Well, I don’t know about you but I’m off to hop in one of my Ferraris back to my mansion for a magnum of champagne with my supermodel girlfriend. (Come on, like I even have shoes…)
