This is one of the weirdest things you’re going to see, hear or digest in pretty much any form for the foreseeable future. When you watch the latest video from Bradford quintet Fling you’ll be giving your drink a good sniff to try and work out what’s been dipped into it.
Filled with paper maché, puppets and an jabbering ‘bu ba da’ riff that you’ll actually fall for just a little bit by the end of the track, this is perhaps the culmination of everything the band represent – a right bit of fun in a world where everyone else takes themselves far too seriously. It’s something straight out of Ringo’s dream journal, there’s remnants of a decent dreamy tune in there somewhere but it’s so hard to see past all the visual fantasies and the tales of ‘Billy Banjo‘. It’s utterly bonkers and not like anything else that’s making waves at the moment – you can’t argue against this lot being truly unique and they definitely put their all into the bizarre things they do. It’s stupid, ridiculous nonsense and – oh god – I love it so, so much.
