The Dutch outfit are making waves with regular plays on 6Music and they’ve just let loose another wee beauty into the wild.
Sure, it might sound like it’s hard to tame but it’s a really ‘Pussycat‘ when you get to know it. Powerful yet always reserved, the track contains a real sense of determination and even though it pounds away at your earholes more relentlessly than a struggling one-man-band on a street corner, you never get overpowered by the drive and instead feel like it’s pulling you in far more than you’re being pushed back by the noise. That vocal drawl in the opening phrases is just so effortlessly cool that you’ll feel like maybe you shouldn’t make eye contact with this lot or you’ll get in trouble. Pip Blom are who you want to be, they’re the kids with all the swagger and style that you oh so long to be. And, boy, do they know how to make music.
