One of the most aptly named bands in music, The Shakers are back with more funky disco vibes that’ll have your hips shaking to the beat in such a wildly uncoordinated way that you’ll be asked to leave the Tesco Express without your meal deal you’d been looking forward to all morning.
There’s a real embracing of cheesy clichés from the London band but none of this matters when you’re writing music that’s all about putting a smile on the faces of dance floor fillers and giving couple something to argue about (‘You never dance with me…’). Those guitars have clearly been bought straight from The Big Catalogue Of Disco, probably with recorded delivery to save them from getting lost in the postal system – Royal Mail wouldn’t have a clue what to do with them if they failed to reach their destination.
It’s all about having a bit of fun and letting go of your inhibitions. So tell that security guard you’re making a stand and keep on grooving those hips with every item you scan through the self-service checkout until your meal has been well and truly dealt.
