Tessera Skies – Such Great Heights (Raindrops)

Screen Shot 2015-10-18 at 20.33.14As much as I enjoyed the brief moment when I thought this was set to be a trippy cover of ‘Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head‘, there’s more than enough to enjoy about this new corker from the ever-brilliant Tessera Skies as they once more transform the world around you with their infectious sound.

Without ever having to try and push things too hard there’s something so instinctively human about the way these sounds toy with your mind. It’s as though they’ve been granted passage to the very core of your music-loving mind and have decided to set up an expansive base camp inside. Having an ambient edge helps this song to become more than just another pop outing – though it relies on catchy vocal melodies and the like, the space-inspired undertones add a greater depth and versatility to the sounds which allows everything to flourish. There’s an overwhelming sense of serenity throughout and the desire to keep the audience hooked on the edge of their seats means that the band don’t need to ramp up the volume to make these sounds effective.

Your patience will be rewarded, just drop out of reality for a few minutes and into the stunning world of Tessera Skies.
