How about something that manages to be acoustically driven without losing any of the power you’d expect to hear from something that charged in all guns blazing? Well, this track from Silent Sleep could just as easily bring a tear to your eye as it could instil a courage within you that you thought was long gone.
It would be rude of me not to mention the exquisite video, so excellently thought through that you’re unlikely to be told a better story in just 5 minutes any time soon. As impressive as the visual are, however, they can still be no match for the truly beautiful sounds created by Christopher McIntosh and his assembled crew of talented musicians. McIntosh is clearly an inspired man and his voice tells tales of woe so expertly backed up by an aural orchestra that conjures a soundtrack which could easily rival any West End show. There are psychedelic elements laying hidden within this utterly filling texture which add an extra spark to the sheer beauty of the music.
In short, prepare yourself for an emotional roller-coaster of a tale, soundtracked by the music that most can only dream of writing. It’s like Trumpton for adults.
