Dancing Years – Suddenly Still

Screen shot 2014-11-08 at 12.21.17The last time I reviewed a track by Dancing Years I may have found myself falling in love with it. I am determined not to let that happen again. Even as it gently brushes my fringe back behind my ear and looks me straight in the eyes, telling me that it’ll listen to every one of my problems and ask for nothing more in return than for me to do the same. Oh no, it’s happening again…

The band are able to just wrap so much emotion around each and every note, making each tender gracing of fingers upon the piano speak more words that make sense than a million of years of watching Fox News ever would. Yes, I can do topical stuff too, get used to it. The guiding voice is once again as reassuring as taking a first bite of a cake that your grandmother used to make for you whilst you were still a small child in body as well as at heart. Not one of the musicians puts a single foot wrong as they are able to once more capture your heart with a song so full of beauty that you can’t help but adore every last thing about it.

We’re all searching for peace in our own minds and, thanks to Dancing Years, there’s a genuine hope that we may indeed be able to find it.
