Little Grim – VICE

Little Grim Press Shot 1You’ll be unable to avoid making comparisons to the increasingly-popular Royal Blood once you hear the opening segments of this track yet Little Grim are able to add their own sense of semi-psychedelic swagger on this tried and tested classic model of delivery, resulting in a track that’ll make your heart beat to the sound of their drum.

The mysterious darkness that lurks in the depth of the song create a mood of instability, which is immediately enhanced by the Stone Roses-esque style of vocal delivery. It feels like a ticking time bomb and, once everything finally explodes, the band have got a floor filler on their hands. When they strip everything back to just vocals and drums it feels like a bit of a risk. Do they pull it off? With complete ease, the addition of this spacious section at the end of a song helps to show that these guys have a bit more of a musically-minded brain than most people making this form of lo-fi music which is currently spreading like wildfire.

This is good stuff, it must be fattening.
