Get ready for something a little more electronic than the general sounds that appear on these pages as I’ve fallen head over heels for the latest tune from Californian duo Maybe The Moon.
It’s as if you’re slowing lowering yourself into a giant vat of melted chocolate, caramel waves lapping at your neck as you surrender to your sugary desires. As the vocals on ‘The Noise‘ float through your ears as effortlessly as a dream, the ambient feeling so tenderly created throughout the verse perks into a pop refrain for the chorus which gives a well measured contrast of sounds for you to mull over as you slip further into the cocoa-filled bathtub. Keep an ear out for some of the inch-perfect harmonies throughout the chorus, though make sure you don’t ignore all the wonderful bubbling instrumental sounds that lay beneath the surface, keeping your mind entertained even when you think there’s not too much to focus on. While it may feel slightly melancholic in places the sound that the pair create is as intriguing and entertaining as ever.
There’s much more to this than meets the eye.
