Horsedreamer – Mexico

Screen shot 2015-05-15 at 15.07.13As I fight the uncontrollable urge to make one of those jokes that you know isn’t PC but you’ll share it amongst your closest friends (come on, we all do it), the visions of Mexico flood my mind as a place of pure beauty and Horsedreamer are able to paint a stunning aural image of the vast lands within a matter of mere minutes with their splendid tune which features on the EP that dropped earlier this week.

See! Sometimes I do actually read press releases…

The slow-moving pace of this track is perfect for a Sunday afternoon, basking in the summer sun with (to quote Ray Davies) an ice cold beer. The guitar effects feel like John Frusciante has popped in to lend a hand, though is keen to stay out of the limelight. For a song with a relatively simple structure you’ll find yourself being oddly hypnotised by the alluring pace that even the mightiest of men would have to slow to if they hope to cross the perilous desert sands.

I hear the the living is good over in Mexico, best get myself some flights booked then.
