Bells Atlas – Sugar For The Queen

Screen shot 2015-06-05 at 20.32.51For anyone who has ever wondered how Her Royal Highness takes her tea, Bells Atlas seem to have answered at least one part of that question with their latest aural excursion. Saying that, it might just be that Ol’ Liz has a bit of a sweet tooth. Of course, if you’re not British and you’re reading this I’m probably coming across as disrespectful. Never mind, I’m sure she doesn’t really give a damn about what I think! Moving on…

Since I first came across this American band they’ve been providing my with aural sustenance suitable for even the pickiest of monarch, their African-infused brand of indie-pop draws me in like a fly who has an addiction to the sweet stuff. Beautiful harmonies and melodies reign supreme above a bed of expertly commissioned audio artworks, the piece comes together with all the class of the finest painters – though hopefully this will end up costing less than a few million. To be fair, this tune is well worth you parting with some of your hard-earned cash as it delivers so promptly that if it were a newspaper you’d have time to read the whole thing before work every single morning.

A first class effort.
