It’s time to get funked up and what better way to do so than by tuning in to any one of the brand news tracks from the ace Brothers Rasputin, the London 3-piece band that are putting the funk into ‘what funking time do you call this?’
Having peppered the interwebs with a selection of new sounds in the last couple of weeks, this track seems like the very strongest of the bunch to me as it could adorn the soundtrack to any light-hearted film from the ’70s onwards. As it pulls your body to and fro with an infectious groove the charming vocals, and exquisite backing vocals, float around calmly atop a bed of guitar so tasty they could bottle it up and sell it as a premium organic jam. Seriously, by the time the solo comes around you’ll be looking avidly for an expiration date as there’s no way something so delicious as this could last forever.
Maybe it doesn’t quite last forever but you’d be a fool to not at least play this on repeat for a month or so. That can only be healthy.
