As I scanned through the 1,200 or so emails that have accrued in my inbox while I’ve had a bit of a summer break, one name stood out to my eyes within a matter of moments – Shanty. Oh how I’ve been so madly in love with this band since the first time my ears set upon them. Their cover of Catfish and the Bottlemen’s ‘Kathleen‘ is still a regular visit for me on the interwebs.
So how does their new track hold up?
Well, sadly, this is going to be yet another review in which I wax lyrical about how brilliant they are (had you going, didn’t I? Sorry…). These lads have that much sought after feel-good factor running through every last beat, word and brass melody. The only problem I have with this delightfully catchy new tune is that there’s simply not enough of it to go around. Though the days of summer may be gone, all you’ll need to do to bring the sunshine right back into your heart is whack this lot on the stereo and close your eyes.
You’ll feel better than you have in a long time.
