If honey is a sweet treat then HUNNY must be powerful enough to blast my taste buds into oblivion. There’s the painful line out of the way, now to tell you about how this slice of indie pop is so exquisitely fresh and full of life that it could wake you up and out of even the deepest of sleeps.
It’s filled with all kinds of saccharine delights and the wrenching vocals are pushing hard atop a mound of cracking bass licks, pounding drums and guitars so full of desire that they could woo even the coldest hearted of beaus. It sounds as though plenty of aches and pains have been had in the creation of this little gem but they’re all undoubtedly worth it as the final creation is an absolute treat for your ears. With all sorts of reckless abandon, something is produced that brings the spirit of indie back to life with a mainstream pop twinge that should do just enough to get it into public consciousness far more than playing in dingy back rooms ever could.
HUNNY probably aren’t quite for everyone but if you’re looking for an adrenaline dose then this’ll do you right.
