If you’re the sort of person who makes a judgement call on a track within the first five-ten seconds then I urge you to stick with this new Fairchild number for a tad longer than normal. There’s a real uncertainty about the build-up but, ultimately, while this is still so heavily covered in pop you’d think it had been in a candy floss machine there’s something still rather alluring about it.
Sure, it’s a bit of a typical pop song but somehow I can’t quite seem to avoid it and it feels as though the Aussie six-piece are onto a bit of a winner. It has one absolute stormer of a chorus that’ll have the young people bouncing around without a care in the world and there’s a slick finish to the track which highlights the attention to detail this bunch have paid to their work. The breakdown also adds a tasty bit of balance and, while all incredibly predictable, it’s hard not to at least allow yourself a cheeky little smile when you’re getting caught up in this.
Go on, just take a punt and give this pop one a try. If it’s not for you then fair enough, I’m not complaining, but it’s well worth at least a chance.
