BABE. What a name. Like a pig in a city yet there’s definitely no way this lot have good trotters, unless that synth is actually massive enough for them to get a snout on a single key at a time. That sounds pretty unlikely, and the main reason I know they’re not pigs.
This slow moving corker takes its time to deliver a hefty sound that hits right to the core of the music-loving centre of the brain like an electrical current all set to prick your ears right up and make you think ‘hang on, something pretty special is happening here’. There’s an excellent restraint shown by the Glaswegian quartet as they keep from simmering over and becoming anything other than an expertly polished unit. The way this builds at a pace so sneaky you’ll be looking over your shoulder to make sure you’re not being followed makes it a genius piece of electronic mastery that’s far too easy to love. Sometimes the very best thing you can do is just sit back and let the brilliance that lays before you take over.
In case you haven’t quite got it yet, I think this is right good and you should too.
