If it weren’t obvious enough from the fact this tune sounds right out of Noel Gallagher’s songbook there are ruddy scooters in the video to help make sure you get the fact that Marc Culley is a tad obsessed with a certain style of sound.
Springing into life with some tight reverse guitar, this one is a bit of a slow burner that ambles through the verse before reaching a chorus with anthem twinges. Though this song may feel a tad out of time it still makes for a fairly enjoyable rumbling listen as it rattles along without too much sense of direction. It does feel as though it needs a bit of a boot up the backside and some fresh ideas that don’t just sound straight out of Dig Out Your Soul but this lad definitely has potential and his appreciation for music of years gone by certainly doesn’t go unnoticed. If the guitar were allowed to shine a little more then this could turn into a real pearler but sadly it just seems to be missing a cutting edge.
Still, I got to spend three and a half minutes mostly looking at more mod imagery than a Pretty Green catalogue so I’m incredibly content.
