If ever there was a time the world needing calming down, it is now. Despite feeling like we’ve been spinning on a Twighlight Zone-inspired axis for the last year or so everything seems to have hit home for a lot of people today and emotion, naturally, is rife. That’s why I vote we put on this new track from Ambiere and at least allow ourselves a few brief moments of forgetting about reality.
Of course, tomorrow the fight begins again. For what is right, for what is just, for what is equal. Most of us want to see a world that isn’t run by fear and hate but one that’s so idealistic that frankly none of us actually believe it is possible. We want, nay, we need stability. We need to feel safe in our own skin, safe in our homes and safe wherever we are. Because life is not a game. Power has not been turned back to the common man or the forgotten or whoever you want to claim it has. Power has shifted and only time will tell what the full impact of this will be.
But for now, do as I say and not as I do. Because this is a hauntingly beautiful song that deserves your attention and should divert you away from all the potential horrors this world may face. They’ve got an incredibly deft touch for production that hasn’t been matched by many and if you’re a fan of The XX this is definitely for you. With a softer, lighter feel this could be the perfect sound morning, noon or night to help simmer down your boiling blood. It’s truly, genuinely phenomenal. This is where your head should be right now.
