Premiere: CHILDCARE – Kiss?

screen-shot-2017-01-27-at-07-37-13I’ll tell you what – you’ll never forget the charm of this absolute peach from CHILDCARE as it swishes into your ears with one of the catchiest refrains you’re likely to come across any time soon.

There’s a hint of Vulfpeck’s ‘Back Pocket‘ in the way the track opens before it goes on to be far rockier and considerably less overly saccharine. The drums feel like they’re racing away without a care in the world for any other drivers on the road and the band fly at this one harder than a stunt man desperate to prove he’s got what it takes to be the next Jackie Chan. He’s wrong though, nobody will ever be as good as Uncle Jackie. Right the way through this alt-pop banger the quartet are absolutely on fire and it’s such a killer tune that you can definitely expect to hear it blasting out anywhere and everywhere in no time at all.

Now, I don’t usually do this, but I love the explanation behind this song from frontman and male nanny Ed Cares so much I just had to share it in full: “While waiting at the school gates to pick up the child I look after, I went to say hi to a couple of the mums I knew in the playground. I went to kiss one on the cheek just as she leant forward to pick something up from her bag on the ground. This left me hovering mid-air above her for a few seconds, at which point instead of returning to my natural standing position, I decided to draw her attention to my predicament by posing the question: ‘Kiss?’ She rose, we greeted, I blushed.

If that story isn’t enough to make you NEED to listen to this you should just stick it on anyway because it’s a right banger and this lot are destined for magnificent things.
