Pom Poms – Gimme You

2017-03-28 03.18.11Los Angeles-based outfit Pom Poms – a collaborative project between singer-songwriter Marlene Gold and producer/multi-instrumentalist Billy Mohler – have unveiled a new gem, ‘Gimme You‘, the first taste of their full-length debut Turn You Out due May 12th.

It’s an irresistible dose of tight garage-pop; instrumentally it’s very ’60s, full of massive hooks and a relentless, nostalgic, even slightly psychedelic synth throb. Vocally it’s stunning too, led by frontwoman Marlene Gold’s utterly captivating lead “I taste it, I am an addict” she implores between the insanely catchy, pure earworm echoes of “gimme, gimme you.

The duo share a love for dramatic film scores and that influence can be heard more than ever here, it’s a huge sound. Penned about lusting after what you’ve lost, the track finds a perfect balance between sorrowful lyricisms and infectiously groovy instrumentals, alowing the duo’s strong hazy vibes to shine through. You’ll certainly be placing this in your summer playlists, it’s absolutely brilliant.

The track has also be given some effortlessly cool and rather tremendous accompanying psychedelic visuals which you can view below.
