Monico Blonde – Love Is An Only Child

Screen Shot 2017-03-28 at 21.04.11In my head when I was planning what to write here I was talking in a hideously bad German accent – not 100% on what that’s about, it’s probably something to do with the fact that there are some super cool synths in this beaut from Monico Blonde. Ja, das ist… it.

But this is more than just some cliché, in under two and a half minutes you’ve got about three different fully-formulated songs blitzing out and each of them is that bit more special than the last. If you’re a synth-lover it’s covered, same too if you like a bit of rocking out and it’s just as pleasing if you’re the sort of aural adventurer who likes a melting pot of everything. At the centre of it all is a proper indie voice that’s radio ready and primed for stardom. Pinning this one down would be harder than sticking the tail back on an actual donkey but what I can tell you for sure is that I’m absolutely hooked and it’ll take a decent spell in rehab to get me off this.

Being such an easy to manage small package works right in the track’s favour – the sly devil – and you won’t be able to stop at just one taste. Time to get out the ol’ Transpotting For Beginners kit…
