Aside from the fact every time I write Danye my laptop seems to correct it to Kanye, I’m on a right happy one. Mostly because I saw an email that had both the words ‘Scouse’ and ‘psych’ in the first line, so naturally I started writing this before even bothering to listen to the track. Well, almost, but obviously I’m well into it as you’ve already got this far. Should probably start the review now…
It’s relatively mellow when it comes to psych but that’s not to say that this isn’t an inspired piece of music from the outer reaches, in fact it’s the sort of easy to ride out tune that’s perfect for when you’re slowly being engulfed by a beanbag and can do nothing but laugh at your perilous predicament. Apparently this is all about “trying to find a table in a busy restaurant” but if I’m honest I reckon they’d be far happier at home with a nice takeaway being straight eaten out of the containers. This feels all about the easy life, being so effortlessly cool that you don’t even care if there’s a bit of pork chow mien on your shoulder.
Sweeter than a handful of lemon bonbons, this is the perfect little alley cat for an evening of feeling the most intoxicating bliss. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to find a way out of this beanbag before things go from bad to worse.
