Galants – Evergreen

Screen Shot 2017-05-31 at 07.19.01No need for an alarm clock today, here come Galants with a belting bit of guitar magic to flick your eyes open quicker than if you begun to hear the rumblings of a bear in your living room. With guitars as punchy as [NAME WITHHELD BY LAWYERS] after a few cold ones with the boys, this band of Dublin rock enthusiasts have got plenty of bite – just like [NAME WITHHELD BY LAWYERS].

From absolutely raging breaks that feel as though the quartet are going to take right off into verses that lay in anticipation of the next big high, this is peak guitar music that makes you just want to close your eyes and nod your head more violently than ever before. It never shows any sign of letting up and their hands must at least be getting just a little bit tired by the time the drummer allows himself some brief respite for a couple of seconds – after three and a half minutes or so of hitting it hard. Harmonies are in there somewhere and do a decent job but really it’s just impossible to ignore that racing guitar that totally dominates your ears.

Skip the coffee this morning, just pop this in your headphones and crank it up to full instead. You might soil yourself a little bit but, in the long run, it’s probably worth it.
