Oh no, I think it’s time everybody got out of the water. Why? Because I can see The fin. and it looks pretty dangerous, I don’t think you’re going to be able to escape. What do you mean it’s a band? What do you mean I’ve written about before? What do you mean get on with it, nobody gives a shit about this bit?
Yes, The fin. are back and even smoother than ever as the effortlessly dreamy sounds of ‘Pale Blue‘ are on hand to whisk you away from reality and into a world where the living is easy and the vibes are so mellow they won’t even complain if you have the most absolutely raging party. That voice feels like it’s simply caressing your inner ear in a purely consensual way while the bass giving your stomach that rumbling feeling of knowing you’re onto a good thing. The rest of the band? Oh yeah, they’re also doing an excellent job of making me feel as though I’m a rogue cop in a somewhat dated movie being caught up in a Bojack Horseman-esque montage while I watch my bad decisions catch up with me.
That’s not a bad thing, I think. I’m actually really enjoying this aural comeuppance and might just have to give it another few whirls. You know, just so I REALLY get the message.
