Liverpool’s very own #ApproachableLads SPINN are back – as promised – with a new single so cool and soft that if you were served it in a cone you’d lap it up like an adorable puppet on a hot summer’s day.
The teenage quartet keep things nice and light throughout ‘Notice Me‘ as the sounds never threaten to turn into anything you wouldn’t be happy showing to your 14-year-old cousin. These are clearly the sort of young men that you’d be happy to have your daughter come home with – they’ve got all those stylish haircuts and all that but actually they’re harmless as a dove who has gone into a severe level of chill after accidentally swallowing half a pinger. This so damn jangly you’d be expecting it to come equipped with all kinds of lovely bells and whistles and, while the lyrics may be about insecurity and needing attention, they still feel somewhat upbeat. They’re clearly patient lads who don’t feel the need to be rude to get attention – corrrr, aren’t they just so lovely?
Go on, give their cheeks a big ol’ pinch as if to let them know you’re proud of them. With a song like this, they’ve certainly got something to be very chuffed with.
