Since the first time I heard ‘Go Home‘ I’ve been somewhat obsessed with Yellow Days (real-life human George van den Broek) – in particular, his stonkingly good voice which feel like he has been ripped straight out of the middle of the BIG soul era and thrown into the 21st century with nothing but the finest vocals chords to his name.
Well, that’s not strictly true. He’s also one hell of a songwriter and has a sense of rhythm and feel that’s rival any big band, dancer or [CIARÁN – COME BACK AND WRITE A THIRD THING IN HERE, PLEASE DON’T PUBLISH IT WITH THIS IN THE MIDDLE YOU KNOB]. Such emotional delivery echoes through a genuinely positive message, as a simple yet hopeful message resonates around between the ears. Every time the phrase begins again it seems to be coming from even deeper inside the talented song and dance man as he strains to eek out more drops of pure feeling than you’d think you could cope with in just a few short minutes.
It seems as though Yellow Days can do no wrong at the moment and this might just be his very best yet. Now, I’m pretty sure that’s everything here…
