Bandit – Ice Cream

I don’t think I’ve ever actually been to Blackpool, though from the sounds of this new Bandit track I might not be missing out on too much – though they seem happy enough to accept it as a holiday destination, it doesn’t sound like their first choice.

The Liverpool quartet give that grittier side of ‘00s indie (or should that be ‘99?) as they sing of holidays and the sugary treats best enjoyed when the sun actually comes out and does it’s job properly. How many songs are you realistically going to hear this year that reference hundreds and thousands? This is good old fashioned fun, with added seagull noises to really give you that beach experience. Oh, and they’ve used the bloody ‘I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream line’ that my mum said endlessly when I was a kid. So of course I’m sold. Do they do Fab? I like a Fab.

I’ll probably still give Blackpool a try though. I hear it can be rather… illuminating.
