After an uneasy intro which leaves you uncertain of whether the ground beneath your feet is shifting, or if one of your legs has suddenly become much shorter than the other, Scores get into their flow with a pulsating little ripper that really lets the beat in.
That pounding kick drum leads everything here, with an unyielding force that takes control and helps deliver the whole thing with such a ferocious intensity that even the laziest of listener will be bolt upright in their chair within the first minute or so. That sense of unease still remains somewhere in the mix, with swirling synths never fully letting you settle despite the bass trying to carve out a safe path joke through the darkness.
Not one for parties on a sunny day perhaps, but a fantastic listen filled with more expression than a BAFTA-winning actor’s face.
