One of the first things I heard about this King Casio beauty was that the was produced by the fabulous LA Salami and – if you’ve ever listened to Mr Salami’s own music – it takes less than a second to clock his input.
That’s not to take anything away from the artist here at all though, as that piano creates an unease that’s routinely overcome before delving back into the strangeness. The vocals seem oddly sweet and calming in comparison to the racing away of the drums – which keep running loose even in the moments that would otherwise be letting a wave of calm wash over you.
Like nothing else you’ll hear today, it’s a fever dream that you don’t want to wake up from. Absolutely fascinating from start to finish and I’m still not entirely sure I’ve taken everything in.
