I think my recent obsession with Tim Ayre comes down principally to how much this music reminds me of the incredible Her’s, one of the very finest outfits of the 21st century and a truly remarkable pair of lads.
Mr Ayre’s latest single has that relaxed feel to it that lets you know just how much he’s enjoying writing and performing this music. He absolutely must be, as everything is delivered with such a knowing smile that every last drop of this track is impossible not to enjoy. So dreamy and wistful that you’ll have to double check to make sure you’ve not fallen asleep in front of the telly again, the added burst of the guitar break should at least make your eyelids shift a little.
Lovely stuff for a lazy Sunday. Or Monday. You know what, just listen to it whenever and you’ll still love it.
