I don’t know if I’ve ever really written about my love of jazz here, but genuinely if I could only listen to one kind of music for the rest of my life then there’s absolutely no contest. So from the very start of this Jank Setup track I was absolutely hooked and I’m pretty sure I’m still caught on the line.
The guitars are funky, the piano is absolutely magnificent, the rhythm section hit all the right notes and those vocals are perfect for capturing this infectious mood. If you can’t get excited by something as bright as this, it might be time to start indulging yourself in life’s great pleasures again. As this builds to a beautiful cacophony of fresh sounds, my eyes are closed and my grin is from ear to ear – I’d happily be lost in this music for the best part of a fortnight.
So tight and such a joy to listen to, I’m off to walk round the shops with an extra strut in my step and with my shoulders shimmying non-stop. That’s a good look, right?
